2013 European Championship All Around Predictions

This photo has been used so many times I can't find the source, if it's yours, please let me know
These are my first predictions for a major competition, so don't judge me if they're completely wrong, kay? For my podium predictions and more, read on!

2013 European Championships Gymnastics Predictions

This is going to be pretty slapdash, considering I waited until qualification results came out to start making predictions. I promise I wasn't just being lazy, I felt I'd have the best predictions if I saw who actually qualified, considering I'm not so familiar with most of the European field.

My predictions are split up with each apparatus, so this post will just have the link to each post as I get them up. Hopefully this post lets readers know that I'm going to get them up?

What if: Alicia Sacramone Olympic Beam Medalist?

I know, it sounds completely crazy, but hear me out. Alicia had arguably one of the worst Olympic experiences ever, what with falling twice during team finals, and then getting robbed of a medal in the vault final, the only one she qualified for. However, did you know that she was less than .025 from qualifying? For more, read on

The Original Not Impressed

This post really has no connection to anything meaningful about gymnastics, but I was going through old archives researching for my last post, and I came upon an interesting picture. Who knew that McKayla Maroney wasn't even the first gymnast from the USA to be anything less than happy on the podium? To see who it was, click below

Missed Medal: Jiang Yuyuan 2008 Olympics Floor Exercise Final

credits unknown, but isn't she a cutie?
Of course, one of the most hotly contested gymnastics events during the 2008 Beijing Olympics was the uneven bars final, with that mess between He Kexin, Yang Yilin, Nastia Liukin, and Beth Tweddle. (for what it's worth, I'm of the opinion that Yang Yilin was the clear winner) A less debated topic is the floor final. I firmly believe that Jiang Yuyuan should have ended up with the bronze. For why, see below

Guide: Watching Gymnastics on Youtube

Unfortunately, real life has come back to me, so I probably won't be getting posts up as often. While I'm working on some of my other posts, which require more research, I thought I'd put up a quick guide to watching routines on youtube. There's some basic terminology that's really easy to figure out, but having it out there can't be such a bad idea, right? To see more, keep reading!

EDIT: added more with advice from http://beautifulgymnastics.blogspot.ie/  !
